ABOUT HIKES

DC Social Hikes was created by Maria Stangheriln and Lauren Devine with the belief that movement is medicine and that every kid can benefit from nature and friendship! Maria and Lauren are experienced professionals who bring decades of experience working with a wide range of kids and young adults. You can learn more about them here. Hikes are geared at neurodiverse kids and address skills like problem solving, regulating emotions, conversation skills, and identifying social cues.

MINDFULNESS

Each hike will start with a focus on mindfulness. Hikers will participate in a short yoga practice &/or breathing meditation.

GAMES & ACTIVITIES

Next, hikers will join together for games and activities aimed helping participants practice working together as a team, communicating with peers, leadership skills, problem solving, and regulating emotions.

GROUP HIKE

Last but not least! Each session will conclude with a group hike. While hiking, we will incorporate mindfulness elements and--most of all--we will focus on fostering meaningful friendships!

$30/hike is our regular price.

**If you are a DC resident, you may qualify for a scholarship to attend hikes for free this season!
